| Here is my first skimmer.
I wanted to see if this cheap and simple design would work so I
gave it a shot. Seems to work pretty good although I have
a crappy pump on there. After seeing the basics of how
this works I plan on making a recalculating skimmer with 6-8
inch PVC.

The parts list is as follows:

1 - 1gal Rubbermaid container (avail at Wal-Mart)
1 - 2qt Rubbermaid container (avail at Wal-Mart)
2 - 4" female PVC adapters
1 - 4" to 2" reducing bushing
1 - 6" length of 2" PVC
1 - 6" length of 3/4" PVC (water out from chamber)
1 - ~10" length of 3/4" PVC (water out from chamber)
1 - 3/4" elbow
2 - 6" lengths of 1/2" PVC (water in from pump

Edge needs Ground off so the

Here it is in the sump. The first row of pics is almost
immediately after placing it in the sump. Wet foaming
bubbles instantly. I wasn't sure anything would happen
since there isn't anything in the sump but some live rock.
The last two pictures are a few days later.
