I have a room in my basement that
has the furnace and air conditioner unit in it that is almost
directly under the tank upstairs. The room was small so I
decided to move the wall over about two and a half feet.
This gave me lots of room. I built a small stand 48x18x36,
it is big enough to hold the sump I have, and tall enough that I
plan to put a refugium under it. My plan is to have
the overflow run from the tank to the skimmer section of the
sump. From there I will tap off the return line and run it
to the refugium. There will be a small pump that pumps
water back to the sump. Hopefully the pictures (when I get
them off my camera - and plumb this) will make more sense.
I also plan to add a DI unit for my RO water in this room,
and an auto top off to the sump. If I have room in there
after all that I am going to try and find a place to put a
container for mixing the saltwater for water changes.
There is also a drain in this room for the water heater - makes
this perfect for doing water changes.
Pictures to come.
